Using Palm tree mulch - 0 replies

JoanneM Posted by JoanneM in Gardening, plants, insects and pests in Cairns on Tue Aug 1, 2023 8:11pm

Can you use palm tree mulch directly on your garden. Someone told me it is acidic so you should let it sit for one month before using directly on your garden. Has anyone had problems using palm tree eg plants dying. Any feedback would be helpful

Mason/Welsh Family - 0 replies

Melissa Posted by Melissa in Ancestry and family history in Brewarrina on Thu Jul 6, 2023 5:46pm

Hi everyone, My name is Melissa and I am after any information that anyone may have regarding the Welsh/Mason family. I have been told that my great grandmother Gladys Eva May Mason grew up in and around Werris Creek and Quirindi areas. I know that the Mason family lived near the Daley's opposite the river going out of town and Gladys worked as a cook at the Railway Motel.

My grandmother Barbara Cambridge (born Williamson - daughter of Gladys) often visited Roy Mason and family regularly when I was a child. Nan would tell stories of growing up and visiting Werris Creek, watching movies under a tarp with other family members outside the community hall which has lead me to believe that we are Aboriginal. Later in life I tried to talk to my nan about this however she would shut me down, simply saying we don't talk about that so I never really pushed.

As an adult I have traced my family tree but still have not found any connections. I have always felt a strong connection to country and other Aboriginal peoples and I would like to be able to confirm this and truly connect with my mob and teach my children.

I hope someone hear will be able to at least point me in the right direction.

Thanks, Mel
