hi ann, i do not know about the shepherd side.the mcmullen side i can not give you any certainty or concrete details but kevins paternal aunt said so on their side-but i could not find the link.kevins great grandmother eliza wright was a single mother to kevins grandmother ethel maud wright.ethels birth certificate states that her father was cokely caezer lamph but he and eliza never married each other so i do not know if he was the father for certain as  ethels children did not want to tell the details-so it is possible he was a pretend father andf the real father was a part aboriginal stockman from the property she lived on at the time with her family in 1887 on the bogan river.historical accounts say it was very common for property workers to have aboriginal partners back then but marriage was not allowed-so possible but i have no idea if it can be prooven now .cheers ,graham.

Hi Ann,Sorry I Have not got back to you long ago.Something for you to think about-one of my sisters would probably be the best person to find out family secrets if anyone knows them as she is extremely good at getting others to cooperate and she can be relentless if not somewhat annoyingly so.My and your Aunty Joyce is very possibly still alive and may know  our family secrets as her husband Jack-Andrew liked to talk  generally speaking -just not to us kids or strangers.A Joyce particularly liked this sister of mine-so their is a chance. She certainly would not tell me I do not believe  or you  but my sister possibly. The only problem is that this sister of mine can be a bull in a china shop and a bit chaotic  especially after too many drinks. And I know you do not want to stir up your siblings which she could do.Something for you to think about anyway.Other than that I am happy to give you a letter stating that my Mum said we were Aboriginal and another man I know who is Aboriginal would also write that his father always said we were Aboriginal as well.Unfortunately I have already talked to the coordinator from Brewarrina  and he was not very positive in regards to me but you never know -maybe the fact that you are fostering some kids could persuade the local council to be helpful?Best Regards for now and sorry once again,I will try to talk to you in the next few days.Graham.

Hi,

I'm in Year 12 and currently following my family tree on my late fathers maternal side. My Great Grandfather was William Gatton Cason (he fought in WW1), whose parents were George Moses Cason (18.04 1852 - 29.11.1928) (William fought in the Boar War) and Sarah Cason (nee Wright) (07.07.1858 - 19.06.1933). I have been able to find that Sarah Wright, Parents were William Wright  and Mary Wright (maiden name unknown)  And here I start to get stumped.

I have traced William Wright died on 04.04 1893 in Bourke NSW, Buried in Byrock Cemetery. No wife is mentioned on his grave stone. He may very well have married or had two families. But it appears that his wife Mary Wright returned to live in Brewarrina until her death on or about 07.11.1910 aged 69 and Buried Catholic in Brewarrina cemetery. (Which I have found from Death records).

This means Mary was born about 1841 and I believe married or commenced relationship with William Wright in or around 1858. I would be grateful for any information about Mary Wright, her origins, her family, her maiden name, date and place of birth, how she came to live in Brewarrina and how she died, and then buried in Brewarrina, and how she came to met and marry William Wright and the names of their children and where they were born and grew up.

I would be grateful for any information or help anyone can offer to help me find out more about my family and our history and our connection to Brewarrina or local areas.

Many thanks

Zac

Hi Zac, I can answer the questions you asked but I think it is easier and more helpful to talk on the phone so I will give you my number via the private messenger-but I need to work out how to first-so possibly later today, Cheers, Graham.
