A Lucas family
Back to Christmas in 1956 as a serving sailor in the Royal navy whilst operating at Christmas island my ship, H.M.S. Narvik visited Sydney for three weeks over the Christmas period. When there a Mrs Lucas and family invited two sailors from the ship to spend the holiday period with them, and I was fortunate to be one of them. Mrs Lucas had two daughters whose names I cannot remember now, and a son named David. It was a memorable time for me as a young 16 year old spending my 1st Christmas away from home, the family made me feel like I was at home and were all extremely welcoming and caring and it was a great experience.
I am aware that this took place a long time ago, and I can give very little more information than I have already, so this is a long shot, is there anyone out there that knew this family or the event? Do you know the family? Are you a member of this family? If so I would be delighted to hear from you.
Thank you. Alan Bean.
